The most vulnerable victims of pollution caused by toxic chemical substances, including dioxins and endocrine disruptors, are wildlife and our future generations. JEPA was established Japan-wide in 1998 to make concrete proposals to government bodies for policy change on their behalf.
By bringing together over 1,200 concerned individuals from different backgrounds to pool their wisdom and recommend policy, JEPA is shaping public opinion to protect our health.
Background to JEPA
JEPA was formed in 1998 by 50 inter-disciplinary founders and over 1,000 citizens in response to a call from 158 female lawyers around Japan. Mr. Ryo Tachikawa, former President of Kochi National University, was appointed to lead JEPA.
